Pocketing Profit

We are arguably the wealthiest nation on Earth, yet the United States fails to provide healthcare to its citizens. By healthcare I’m not just referring to hospital and surgical procedures. I’m referencing free tampons and pads for women, allergy medication, counseling services and prescription glasses.

There is too much emphasis on profit because of this, we cannot produce the best quality citizens. This is why I have never been a strong advocate for capitalism. The greed and selfishness that comes with capitalism is one stumbling block that prevents necessary functions like healthcare to reach its full potential.
